Dress: Forever21
Cardigan: Target

Lips: Revlon Balm Stain in "Crush"

Mondays are forever incredibly drab. Dressing myself somewhat presentable and a donning dark lip is what keeps me going! This Monday was surprisingly easygoing, despite a 4 day weekend from work. So I guess I skipped a case of the Monday Blues. Hope yours was good as well!

Stay fashionable loves! ♥

Review: Elizabeth Arden Hydrating Mask

Photo of Elizabeth Arden Hydrating Mask

Let's start off with saying that I have recently become obsessed with skincare. My skin type until recent times has been combination oily, but I believe now it is more normal to dry. Since it is winter I have a normal t-zone and dry cheeks, but I still expect a slightly oilier t-zone in the warmer months. I have always used the typical drugstore cleansers and moisturizers so dabbling in the higher end skincare world is a daunting but exciting adventure.

Today I am reviewing Elizabeth Arden Hydrating Mask, which has been recently discontinued is readily found at TJMaxx, Marshall's or Amazon for anywhere from $7 to $26.

This mask is a thick consistency that you are supposed to put on your face for 10-15 minutes while it dries, and then wash or tissue off. Although it is thick, it spread easily and makes a semi opaque cover of mask on your skin. Upon application it does tingle, which I find a bit odd for a hydrating mask. It dries fairly quickly, for me it was completely dry in 8-9 minutes.

In terms of removing the mask I tried both methods, for reviews sake. Tissuing off hurt my skin because the mask was fully dried. However the one painful patch I did try removed the mask completely. I used a microfiber cloth(I think I'll do a whole video/blog post on microfiber vs muslin cloths vs face brushes in due time) to take of the mask which removed very easily with warm water.

Results? My skin felt hydrated, but not so hydrated that I contemplated not using a moisturizer. And for these dry cheeks, thats what I'm looking for. Even better, my dry patches made their guest appearance the next day. I think for summer time, or normal to combo skin types, this may be all the hydration you need. But for me, I've definitely found better picks, like Origins Drink It Up Overnight Mask, which I will review after a bit more use.

Verdict: I'd rate this a 3/5. I think it just may not be for my skin type. I will pull this out in the spring though, and give my two cents again!

Stay fashionable(and hydrated)! ♥
